I just posted a biography for a Josiah Bryant last night to the Wapello
County Site. Can you please delete that one as mistakes were made and I wish to
re-do it all over again. I will submit the new one after I hear from you.
How do I get an invitation to the Wapello County Site?

Thanks everyone for trying to help me find the graves
of my 2xgreat-grandparents,Thomas & Hannah Drake from
Eldon,IA.!From what I understand now the Laddsdale
Cemetery is now an historic cemetery not being used
now.The cemetery was close on the border between
Wapello & Davis Co.,IA.I figure if they ever had any
tombstones they are gone now.

I'm sorry we don't know where on when Thomas or Hannah
Drake died. Before this weekend all we knew was Thomas
& Hannah Drake appear in the 1870 Wapello
Co.,IA.census & don't appear in the 1880 census.We
figure they died somewhere in that 10 year period of
On one piece of information that I received on
Saturday says that Thomas & Hannah Drake are buried in
the Laddsdale Cemetery near Eldon,IA. I understand the
cemetery is in Davis Co.,IA.& is no longer being
used.Is that right? Who would know who's buried there
Thanks for any help in tracking down these two!
Pam Drake in IN.

P.S. Is the Laddsdale Cemetery in Davis or Wapello
Co.? How would have a list of who was buried there?
Here is the index I found when I did a Google search:
This index is courtesy of Dick Barton. Some biographies are already on line.
It will help for you to look at it for your ancestors and take note of page numbers before you request help from Corlee Morris Email: hmorris575(a)att.net<mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org> , who made the kind offer.
I had Smallwoods in Davis County, Iowa from the late 1870s to the late 1930s, but they didn't make the book! Enjoy!

I have a copy. Do you know what pages you need copied? My family came to Davis County in about 1855 and was there at least until 1918.

Would anyone have a copy of the 1882 History of Davis County, IA?
I understand there are mentions of the Stokesberry and Stooksberry
names in this history, and wonder how I might go about getting
photocopies of the relevant pages.
