Villisca Review, June 1899 (Iowa USA)
W. C. Dinham of Valley Township, Page County died Saturday May 27 1899 at the
age of 73. He was a resident in the home where he died for nearly a quarter of
a century except for a short time while living in Villisca. He leaves his wife
formerly Mrs. Hester Gourley to mourn his loss. The funeral services conducted
by Rev. Newlin of this city occurred Sunday afternoon at the North Grove
Church. Deceased was a man of real worth and integrity and held the highest
esteem of his neighbors. His promises were always performed. His kindness
never failing. -- Villisca Review
Additional Comments:
William C. Dinham (b. Bath, England, 1825) was the first husband of Ann Dinham
(nee Orchard). He fled to the USA in 1851 to avoid prosecution for involvement
in a burglary, while Ann was convicted and transported to Australia.
