St. Ansgar, IA Enterprise - September 21, 1932
Miss Maurine Brogmus, only daughter of Mr. & Mrs. C. H. Brogmus of St.
Ansgar, IA was united in marriage to Mr. Orval Ause, son of Mr. & Mrs. O. Ause
of Preston, MN, in a very pretty wedding ceremony at the First Lutheran
Church, Saturday afternoon, Septmeber 17th at 4:30 o'clock. The Rev. Olaf A.
Langehough officiated at the ring ceremony.
The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a gown of ivory
satin enhanced by a long tulle veil with lace cap. She carried an ivory satin
Bible tied with a shower bouquet of lilies of the valley and baby breath. She
was attended by Miss Doris Nesset as maid of honor in pale green and carrying
a bouquet of yellow roses. Miss Cozette Gilbertson acted as bridesmaid,
wearing yellow and carrying yellow roses.
The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Harold Ause.
The church aisle was carpeted in white and the altar made beautiful with
palms and large baskets and bouquets of flowers. Miss Frances Peshak played
the "Wedding March" from Lohengrin and Mendelssohn's "Wedding
March" Mr.
William A. Groth, accompanied by Mrs. Groth, sang "I Love You Truly" before
the processional and "Because" before the ceremony.
A reception for the newly wedded couple was held at the Brogmus home where
a six o'clock dinner was served by the Misses Olga Berg, Gladys Gilbertson,
Florentine Tideman and Berdice Tiedemanson, friends and cousins of the bride,
after which the young couple left for a wedding trip through northern
Minnesota.
Mr. Ause is a graduate of the St. Ansgar high school and of the Class of
1932 of St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN, and is also an accomplished musician.
Mr. Ause attended St. Olaf and took the course in dairy industry, later
going to Ames, IA where he graduated in March of this year. During the
summer, he has been associated wtih the Harding Creamery of Kansas City.
Mr. & Mrs. Ause will reside in St. Paul the coming school year, as Mr. Ause
will do post graduate work at the University of Minnesota.
