Dr. Rudolph Vorpahl,
Former Coroner, Dies
__Dr. Rudolph A. Vorpahl, 76, physician for more than 50 years and a resident
for 47 years, died Wednesday. Born July 11, 1882, in Milwaukee, he served in
the army in World war I. Surviving are his wife, Florence, and a brother of
Darien, Wis.
__Dr. Vorpahl was graduated from Marquette university in 1905. He was a member
of American Medical Assn., St. John's Episcopal church and the Episcopal Men's
Club of Iowa; Elks; Mt. Hermon lodge, No. 263, AF and AM; Iowa Consistory; El
Kahir Shrine, and the American Legion. He was a coroner for 14 years prior to
1934 and received a 50-year citation from the Linn County Medical Society.
__Services: St. John's Episcopal church at 1:30 Saturday by Rector D. A.
Loferski. Burial: Union cemetery, Milwakee, Monday morning. Friends may call at
Beatty-Beurle's after 7 p.m. Thursday until 11 a.m. Saturday.
__The family requests that friends, if they so desire, contribute to the St.
John's Church Memorial fund.

__Services for Dr. R. A. Vorpahl will be conducted in St. John's Episcopal
church at 1:30 Saturday by Rector D. A. Loferski. Burial: Union cemetery in
Milwaukee at 11 a.m. Monday.
__Friends may call at Beatty-Beurle's until 11 a.m. Saturday, and at the church
from 12:30 to 1:15 as the casket will not be opened at the service.
__The family requests that friends, if they so desire, contribute to St. John's
church memorial fund.

__Florence Vorpahl, 2330 B avenue NE, widow of Dr. R. A. Vorpahl, died in a
Cedar Rapids hospital early Friday after a short illness.
__She was a member of St. John's Episcopal church and St. Elizabeth's Guild.
__Services: St. John's church at a date to be announced later by Rector D. A.
Loferski. Burial will be in the Union cemetery, Milwaukee.
__Friends may call at the Beatty-Beurle funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday.
Friends may contribute to St. John's Memorial fund.
