Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Elmer Albert Zittergruen, 87, died of cancer Saturday night, March 1, 1997. in
Central Hospital, Elkader. Private memorial services and burial will be at a
later date. There will be no visitation. Leonard Funeral Home, Elkader, is in
charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Marion; a son, John of Mason City; and four
daughters, Susan Grey of Cedar Rapids, Jean VanLennep of Guttenburg, Kathy
Connelly of Mason City and Tracy Reed of Wilton.

Marion Louise Zittergruen, 78, died suddenly May 22, 2006, in her home. Private
memorial services will be held at St John Congregational Church in Garger.
Inurnment will be in Mount Harmony Cemetery, rural Garger. Leonard Funeral
Home, Elkader, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born April 15, 1928, in Elkader, to Frederick and Caroline(Glawe) Knoke.
Survivors include her children, Susan (Paul) Jahnke of Cedar Rapids, Jean Powers
(Rod Moser) of Guttenburg, John zittergruen of Mason City, Kathy (Francis)
Connelly of Mason City and Tracy (Brad) Reed of Durant; grandchildren Andrew
Jahnke, Tony VanLennep, Chad VanLennep, Jessie Weber, Kristy Morrison, Vicki
VanLennep, Melissa Zittergruen, Gina Connelly, Dana Connely and Kyle Connelly;
and great grandchildren Deserai, Danielle and Corey Weber, Jasmine Zittergruen,
Alec Connelly and Natalie Connelly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; and two sons, James and Edward.

ALEX MURRAY
Tipton, Iowa-Alex R Murray, 86, Tipton, died Monday at Crestview Care Center,
West Branch, Iowa, after an extended illness.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sheets and Son Funeral Home. Burial will
be in Red Oak Cemetery, Tipton.
Visitation is 1:30 to 9 p.m. today and 11 a.m. until the services Wednesday at
the funeral home.
He was retired from the Cedar County road department.
He married Wildia McCamment in 1921. He married Mary L Glick in Camanche in
1966.
He was a life resident of the area; a veteran of World War I, and post
commander and 50 year member of the Tipton American Legion Post No 123.
Survivors include his wife; daughter Eloise Cady, Las Vegas, Nev.; sons
William , Davenport and Roger, Waterloo; stepdaughter, Nancy DeGroote, Cedar
Rapids; four stepsons Jerry and Lonnie Glick, both of Anamosa; Larry Glick,
Whittier, and Jim Glick, Gulfport, Miss., nine grandchildren, and five great
grandchildren
