Once you get to the library in Elkader, stand at the door of the library and look outside.
Off to your left, across the street is Voss Realty. Go over
to that realty office before you leave town. Myra Voss has a bunch of church and school
transcriptions and she was able to help me with records that I
was looking for. I ended up finding death dates for my MENKE family in church records
*and* the town in Prussia that they were from.
Someday I need to go back, I discovered that the RIBBE family is related to my families
and I hadn't figured that out until I got back home.
Consequently, I don't have many Ribbe records from Iowa. I'm starting to gather
their MN information though.

The original message was sent to me privately, but my reply e-mails
have bounced for a couple days so I will reply here in hopes that Roger will
read it & know I'm not ignoring him.
I would be very surprised if the Elkader library didn't have the book, but I
don't live there and have never been to the Elkader library.
Someone has submitted an index for the book, you can view it here:
Good luck on your visit to Elkader!

Where can I get a copy of this book or if not available, where can I
go to view the book? I will be in Elkader next week to do some research. Is
it available in the public library there? Thanks.
