Funeral services were held for Mrs. Vern Koth, Monona, Feb. 12 at 11:00 a.m.
at the Garden City United Methodist (Brick) Church in Monona. The Rev.
Carroll Brown officiated.
Tresa Martha Koth, the daughter of Absalom and Mary (Scheid) Ames, was born
July 14, 1893 at Retreat, Wis. She was baptized and confirmed in the
Methodist faith and attended school in the Luana area.
On March 11, 1915 she was united in marriage to Vern Koth. To this union four
children were born: Donald, Ray, Foster and Marjorie. In 1944 they moved to
Monona and in 1978, they celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a son Donald, who died in 1944 in
combat; six brothers, Charles, Veranus, Floyd, Amos, Orrin and Austin; and
three sisters, Jane, who died in infancy, Mae Jones and Agnes Wolters.
Survivors include; her husband, Vern; two sons, Ray Koth of St. Olaf and
Foster Koth of Luana; one daughter, Mrs. Louis (Marjorie) Olson of Clermont;
six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Dull,
Monona and Mrs. Iva Snitker, Waukon; and one brother, Miles Ames, Castalia.
Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery.
