Hi Jacquelyn !
I received your email on Norwegians in Chickasaw County and am having trouble with the url. I sent you an email to the address you sent me and it bounced. Would really like to contact you on this as it certainly would be a great tool for those search Norwegians.
Lydia Serena Rowley married John Washington Johnson in 1851. They lived near Bassett on a farm. I have not been able to find any thing on John Johnson or his brother Henry other than they moved from Michigan with the Rowley family.
I am also looking for info on Volney S. ROWLEY. Family story is he was killed by a stray bullet on a train coming home from the Civil War in Tennesse
Any help would be appreciated

We have started a TRANSPORTATION Section on the IAGenWeb Chickasaw web site starting with a map of the railroads in 1899. Although not specifically genealogical data it certainly helps some families in their research of ancestors. Our map is located at - http://iagenweb.org/chickasaw/transindex.htm .
If you have transportation data you would like to contribute to the web site, whether it be railroad, stagecoach, air, etc., photos, documents, maps, or whatever please let me know at geanie(a)cox.net . Sincerely, Mike Peterson

I am researching the following families who lived in Chickasaw County in
the 1870-1890 time span before moving to Knox County, Nebraska:
HALVORSEN, Haugen/Henry and wife Maren/Mary Berger.
OLESON, Christian and (second) wife Anna Davidson Snetum (these folks
later changed their name to Harrom).
Would love to correspond with anyone who may have links to either of
these lines. Would also be interested in hearing from anyone who may
have ties with Christian Oleson's first marriage, from which I have
found 2 children in my research.
The names I research in Chickasaw county are Trask and Jenkins.
