In the December 4, 2004 issue of the Daily Pilot (of Orange Co., CA) the following
obituary was printed:
Richard "Dick" MacGregor was born September 24, 1920 in Mason City, IA. He
peacefully passed away November 25, 2004 at Sunflower Gardens. Dick is survived by his
loving wife Pat for 61 years; daughters Pat Snyder and Coty Miller; son-in-law Lee Miller;
five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and his sister Helen Patrick of Tampa, FL.
Dick graduated from Georga Tech in 1943 with a BS degree in Aeornautical Engineering. He
was a pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII and also served in Korea. In Atlanta, he
was an engineer for Delta Airlines for eight years. He moved to CA in 1956 and was
employed by Douglas Aircraft. He was a manager of Product Support and Maintainability for
35 years, retiring in 1989.
Dick was an active member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church since 1958. He was an
elder and served on various committees.
A memorial service is planned during January. Contributions in his name may be made to
Alzheimer's Association; Companion Hospice, Orange, CA; Diabetes Association; or St.
Andrew's Deacon Fund.
