Hi list, My Great-Grandfather, Robert Duncan was born in Johnson County, Ia.
8/15/1859. He moved to Powesheik County, (Grinnell)
at about the age of 9. Moved to Buena Vista County (Storm Lake) around
14 years of age. He met and married Alice Crowley who also lived in Storm
Lake. They were married in Lamars, Iowa on 5/14/1885. Had 7 children born
between 1887 and 1904. At some point after 1905, they moved to Holstein.
Would love to find out who his parents/siblings are. None of the censuses

I am seeking information about the parents of George Perry BAKER who married
Mary P. DELANY in Marathon on 2 July 1891. These two raised their family in
the Marathon area throughout the next several decades. Does anyone know about
George's parents? His death certificate in 1951 gives their names as J.D.
Baker and Nora COLBY, and George's record in the 1900 census says J.D. Baker
was born in NY and Nora Colby Baker was born in PA. I know that George
himself was born in Saukville, Washington Co., WI near Milwaukee in 1856, but
I could find nothing on his family in Wisconsin records and nothing about his
mother Nora among the Colby researchers. George's family moved to Iowa while
he was still a boy, but I know no details. Could someone please help me?
