If you are not able to find a family member, I'm sure the Buchanan County Historical
Society would be interested. I serve on the board and have done some research on the
Ensminger brothers. You're welcome to contact the curator, Leanne Harrison

I've "rescued" an old photograph identified by his signature as D. W.
BRUCKART which was taken at the Ensminger Brothers Studio in Independence,
IA. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1870's with the man in
the photograph appearing to be in his 20's or 30's at the time it was taken.
Thanks to area researchers I now have the following information regarding
this man and his family:
Daniel "Dan" Webster or Webb BRUCKART was b. 23 Aug 1851 in Silver Springs,
PA to Samuel BRUCKART and the daughter of Col. J. HABECKER. Daniel died 23
Aug 1901 in Seattle, WA and is buried in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in
Seattle, WA. Daniel attended college in Easton, PA and went onto study law
in Iowa being admitted to the bar in 1873. Daniel married Sara W. WILLIAMS
on 18 May 1875 in Independence, IA and they had two sons including Lee
Dudley BRUCKART and Lloyd Owen BRUCKART. Daniel moved to St. Cloud, MN in
1883. Daniel was Dist. Attorney in Buchanan Co. IA and worked within the
legal dept of the Burlington Northern Railroad for a time as well.
Daniel's occupation was identified as Mining Broker during his time in
I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that the photograph can be
returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you
know someone who might be, please contact me.
