Iowa Vital Records was unable to locate Myrlvia Miller's birth certificate. Her birth date is listed as Jan 1, 1907 on the form that I have received from them. However the 1924 marriage document says she was 16 at the time of the event.( Feb 26th 1924) the place of residence is listed as Carroll, Carroll county, Iowa. Her birth place is listed as Arcadia, Iowa. I am going to guess/ hope that her parents were married between 1904 and 1907in the county where Arcadia is located.( My dumb atlas only lists major cities) I wish I had my other one still.
Leo Henry Harrington( Spouse) is listed as being born in Independence,Buchanan county, Iowa March 3, 1903. I am going to guess that the parents were married between 1900 and 1903 on the Harrington side. Possibly in Buchanan County as well.
I had a person that found 5 Patrick Harrington's listed in the 1880 census in Iowa, one of which had a son named Patrick Harrington. I do not know the details on it though. I suspect the possible desent is Irish due to the name Rohan C. Harrington listed as a witness on the 1924 marriage document. As of yet I have not found any conclusive evidence from 1893 forward of a migration through Ellis Island but that does not mean there was not a migration from another port and or before that time frame.
I am guessing Miller probably moved from another state only because I have found Mooney records from Georgia and southern states but none yet in Iowa with the exception of the marriage document that I have. I also have nothing on Lehaefer family but I do not know if there is one beyond something like family friend. There has been a rumor of a Henry Harrington( Uncle Henry) someplace in this Harrington line. I have not found any information on this yet either.
< Smile> The more I find out the more questions I have about the familys.
Did this help, or confuse you?
I left the initial e-mail section on the bottom to help reference names and such.

My name is Donna Perdue.
I would like to know how to find information on a birth place for my great great grand parents.
I have a rough guess as to birth dates,
First set: about 1883 ish for Patrick R. Harrington (the middle name is probably an R, it looks like the . struck right over the R making it look like an F.) married to a Mathilde Reide ( also noted as Mathilda Reid and Matilda Reed) (born about 1885-1887). I have the paper lineage from that time forward.
Second Set: John Miller Unknown date( Rough guess is 1885-1887 ish) married to a Mary Jane Mooney( around the same time frame for birth date.) Unknown places of birth.
I have references from a marriage document for a Rev. Jos. Cordes from Lawrence county for Leo Henry Harrington( March 1903) and Myrlvia Miller( Jan 1907) in 1924. The church name looks like H of H Lawrence Church
I also have reference for a Rohan( Rohnan) C. Harrington and a Viola Lehaefer as witnesses to their marriage.
I do not know if the Iowa Vital Records has certificates for these persons because I have not been able to find a record of birth place yet for Harrington, Reide, Miller and Mooney.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Subject: Martin Fuhrman and Patrick Maloney family research
My name is Sheryl Rash and I am interested in getting family information, particularly regarding my great grandfather, and his father - both named Martin Fuhrman. I understand that there is a $10 fee per hour, and I am willing to pay for your services and copies. I would ask that you log the time spent please as you go along so I know if it is getting outside of my abilities to pay.
Martin Fuhrman Sr. was born in 1814 (No full date known) in Hungary of German decent. It may be that it was actually Austro-Hungary at the time. He married Barbara Barack. It is family thought that he and his son Martin Jr. fled to America because of political reasons, but there is no substantiation to that. We have no information on Barbara. Also we have no place of death or date or burial for Martin Sr. It was just stated that he moved to the "Black Hills" and that is where he died.
Martin Fuhrman Jr. was born in 1845 in Hungary. (No full date known)
Martin Sr. and Jr. came to the US in 1958, settling first in Indiana and later in Independence, Iowa.
I find both Martins in the 1870 Fed census in the County of Buchanan, IA, page 533 of Perry township with ID#.s IA018126911 and IA018126912. I would like to have a copy of this page with their information.
Two really important pieces of information we are looking for, is port of entry and where in Hungary they came from and where they were born. Were there any other children left in the old country.
Martin Jr. married Mary N. Maloney (b.11/25/1856) in IA we think. She was the daughter of Patrick Maloney and his wife Mary Murray, supposedly well to do farmers that lived 5 miles from Independence. I also have a 1860 and 1870 Fed census for Patrick. 1860 Patrick Maloney, Buchanan, IA, Page 567, Washington Township. ID# IA2311039. Then the 1870 Census is, Patrick Maloney, Buchanan, IA, Page 534, Perry Township, ID#IA0182290. I would like to have copies of these pages if possible.
Mary and Martin Fuhrman Jr. eventually came to the Northwest to settle and we have their history from that point on. It is the early history we are missing so that we can track the Fuhrman family in particular back to Hungary or Germany, wherever. Martin Jr. died in Goldendale, Washington on 12/28/1904 and is buried at Mt View Cemetery in Goldendale. Mary Maloney Fuhrman died in 1925 and is buried in the same cemetery.
I am certainly not opposed to any information about the Maloney family as well.
I appreciate your help in this matter and look forward to working with you. If there is anything that I have forgotten to give you that you might need from me, please don't hesitate to call/email, etc. I have only 2 aunts and 1 uncle left to retrieve info from. They are children of James Daniel Fuhrman, son of Martin Jr.. My Mother, Maxine Marie Fuhrman, was also a child of James and granddaughter to Martin Jr. She died 5/21/2000.
MARTIN Jr. married Mary N. Maloney on August 244, 1873, probably in Independence. They were of the Catholic faith.
