a gal named NELDA BARBER? Barber was/is Nelda's maiden name. When I came down from Minnesota with my mother & father to visit my paternal family in the 1950's, Nelda and I were pals. I rarely got to see her but she was a real friend to me? I don't think she was part of my family or anything and I don't recall how we met but she was either from the Urbana/Vinton area or Cedar Rapids.

Marcia, names I'm researching are: Tatman, Freeman, Greenlee, Furnas.
Some of these were in Luzerne. Any of them listed there?

We have noticed that the link we have to "the Federal land
title records for the Eastern Public Land States, issued
between 1820 and 1908" has a horrible picture and the
statement "Owned by PoisonBox" instead of the land records.
....Having been off-line for a couple of months, I am
wondering if this has been noticed and perhaps there is a
new/different URL for the land record page..... one I haven't
heard of as I've been *gone* ....

Hi! Does anyone know the mailing address for Newkirk Cemetery (or the Sexton
thereof)? I'm looking for the burial information on two people buried there who
died before state death certificates were kept.
Marylyn Elliott who works at the Iowa Genealogical Society in Des Moines
might be able to help . I don't know how far back she has her husband's
family tree but married a Samuel Elliott from Missouri.
I am looking for information on the family of Robert and Jane (Salton)
Elliot. I think they settled in Belle Plaine, Iowa some time in the 1860's.
Their children were: Mary, Jane, John, David, and George. Robert moved to
Iowa from Bovina, Delaware County, New York. Any information would be most

The only Mahala Harrison that I have was b abt 1825 and married David
Clodfelter. They had a daughter (and other child) who married into my Frazee
family and were in Johnson Co IA. Could be the same line, just a different
branch of the tree.
