If anyone has further info on anyone listed in this obituary, please contact me, I need help. Sarah's maiden name is suppose to be Barnhart but may have also been Snider. Her husband was Lewis/Louis Bennett born in KY. She and two sons are listed in Appanoose county 1920 census. Thanks, Michele Sumpter-White
Mrs. Sarah BENNETT was born in Putnam county, Mo., Sept. 14, 1864.
To her marriage eleven children were born. Five have preceded her in death.
She joined the Baptist church in Putnam County, Mo., many years ago.
She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Effie LECK, Sunday, Aug. 23, 1936
at 12:20. She leaves to mourn her passing, six children.
Family: Will BENNETT of Centerville, Mrs. Vee WHITE of Centerville, Mr. Clarence
BENNETT of Sheffield, Ill., and Mrs. Bess READER, residence unknown.
Had she lived until Sept. 14 of this year she would have 73 years old. She has 22
grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is survived my her step mother and
She was a kind and loving mother and grandmother.
The funeral was held at the Baptist Church at Centerville, Iowa, Tuesday at 3:30
o'clock. Rev. C. M. La Grone of the Methodist Church, in charge. Burial at
Researching my great grandparents, Samuel (?) HUFF and Margaret WEBBER, who
were living in Exline, Appanoose Co. in 1866. Unknown if Samuel is his
correct first name or not. They had four children:
Samuel Joseph HUFF (b. 1860, Marshall Co., IA, m. Annie CARVER)
Susan Delilah HUFF (b. 1864 Marshall Co., IA, m. John Henry BRESSLER
Anna Jane HUFF (b. 1866, Exline, Appanoose Co. IA, m. Charles FULLERTON)
Hannah Ada HUFF (b. 1871, Exline, Appanoose Co., IA, m. William CARVER)
I believe that Samuel and Margaret Webber HUFF died and are buried in
Appanoose Co. between 1871 and 1896.
Are the Appanoose Co. cemeteries online? Or can anyone advise whom I would
contact there for research.
If SKS has access to the 1870 and 1880 census indexes for Appanoose Co. would
appreciate a check to see if Samuel and Margaret Huff & family are listed.

I have just uncovered a puzzle in the ROBB family I am researching.
I have a birth record for ROBS, Laura Fern Vestal, Female, b. 2 May 1924 in Appanoose Co, Iowa. Mother is Lara VESTAL; Father is Clinton ROBS.
I am researching a Clint ROBB from Appanoose County - He married Goldie HOLCOMB 5 Aug 1916 in Davis Co, IA and they had one child - she died 1918. He married Lettie Fern CARPENTER in Putnam Co, MO 25 Sep 1925. They had 6 children, the last three
born in Iowa, the first three born ? - maybe Putnam Co MO.
I have found no other record of a ROBS family in or near Appanoose County.
Clint Robb's brother married Hazel VESTAL and there are VESTALs in Putnam County MO during this time period.
Does anyone know of Laura ROBS or Clinton ROBS or Laura VESTAL?
