Olive May (Bryant) Threlkeld is buried in Salem Cemetery Lot
No. 41/3 with her husband, Roy McKinley Threlkeld, their infant
son, Lowell Burton Threlkeld, and members of Olive's family.
"OLIVE MAY THRELKELD
"Olive May Threlkeld, daughter of W. Wesley Bryant and
Laura Wilson Bryant, was born in Cass County, Iowa, on
February 27, 1886, and died in the Wayne County
Hospital in Corydon, Iowa, on January 26, 1956, at the age
of 69 years, 10 months and 29 days.
"Most of her life was spent in Lucas County. She attended
country school at Ragtown, State Normal School in
Ottumwa, and she later taught a few terms in Lucas County
"On February 19, 1908, she was united in marriage
to Roy Threlkeld. To this union two children were born,
Lowell Burton, who died in infancy and Mrs. Erville
"She was preceded in death by her father, her mother,
a younger brother, Ira, and an older sister, Maude.
"Ollie, as her neighbors knew her, especially enjoyed her
home and the interests therein. Working in the garden,
or with flowers in summer, quilting or sewing for the
beloved grandchildren in winter, filled many happy hours
"Her unselfish devotion to those she loved will not soon
"She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Roy, her
daughter Erville, four grandchildren, a son-in-law Robert
Pettinger, one brother, Floyd Bryant of Des Moines, a sister,
Edna Curtis, of California, and many other relatives
"Funeral services were held at the Beardsley Funeral Home
Saturday, January 28, at 2:00 P.M. conducted by J.L.
Shelton. Interment was in the Salem cemetery."
