By the way, the "Veteran" designation was regarded as a badge of distinction for
a volunteer regiment.

I found on the Iowa WPA Grave Registery Survey
Floyd John S. b. 1828 Buried Troy Cemetery Location Troy Wright County Iowa.
3rd Iowa Inf. Civil War. Nothing listed on Lydia. I think on the location they
meant Troy township in Wright county. Eagle Grove is in Wright County. There was
a Troy IA. at one time but in southern IA. You might try the Wright County Iowa
Genealogical Society they may be of some help.
