My great great great uncle was named John Minihan. He entered the Union Army at age 16 in
Ohio. The family continued west with the Milwaukee Railroad and settled in Clayton
County. John returned home, married and was then divorced. He then enlisted in the 6th
cavalry and served for a short time. He came back to Iowa, but could not stay settle and
began to roam. After being away he was enroute back to Clayton County from Deadwood, SD.
He took sick or was injured. His disabled veterans payments were sent to him in the town
of Rock V. But because of a fold in a document at the national archives we could not
locate the town. We have not been able to find a grave or record of death in Sioux
County/Rock Valley. Can you help us find this man's grave somewhere in Iowa, so that
I may fulfill one of my Dad's and my Uncle's wishes. Thank you very much
Andy Minihan, Aberdeen, SD
