I am new to IA-CIVIC-WAR and seeking the military information for family member Hannibal C Freeman of Olin, Jones County, Iowa born 5/13/1832 died 7/30/1917 buried Olin Cemetery. The birth date I have listed may not be correct, his gravestone reads 5/13/1833. Is it possible to review his birth date on his military record?
Thank you for your assistance.

I would like to order my ancestor's
service record, but he moved around a lot. Do I have to have the name of the Reg.'s or Companies he was assigned to, or would his service record have all of that?
I would also like the pension record of a widow. Would that tell much about the Soldier? He died of disease while still in the service. I have some papers when she applied for the pension, stating when and where they were married, but not stating his parents name.
Would his parent's be listed in his service record? What else would be in a pension record?
