Dear Dick: Thank you. Hope I do not violate rules by sending this to you and the site. I am 80 next 10th (March), and new to this gadget, internet, etc., but old as hills as a amateur genealogist. Just trying to get some of those missing answers to my family tree/history.
John Abraham Becklehimer ("Bhymer"), one of those corrupted spellings of the Betchelhimers, was born 1797 Virginia, was in Ohio in 1803 (with parents), in Indiana 1832 thru 1850,s, then in Adams Co Iowa in 1860, back to Indiana 1864/5/6, in Appanoose Co Iowa (with Son in law Wm B. Hamilton Jr) 1870/71, married 1870/71 Appanoose Co to Mrs Mary Foster, then next appears in Yamhill Co Oregon by 1880 (but alone, no wife) with another son in law, and dies there 1880.
I was trying to find out about this lady, probably a widow, as report says Mrs M ary Foster. I DO NOT KNOW IF SHE WAS IN APPANOOSE IN 1860, or 1850, or where she was. Of course I also do not know her ex husbands given name/s. Also do not know if she is there 1880?
John A. Becklehimer was my Great Great Grandfather.
Thank you for your courtesy, knowledge, and effort, on my part.
Regards Take care Dick Russell

I was trying to find out some information on a Jesse B. Horn and family who
was supposed to be in the1850 census in Davis County, Iowa. I was told by
ancestry.com that some information on their census records indicates an 1852
census not 1850 for Davis County.
Does anyone know if there is an 1852 Census for Davis County, Iowa?
Wondering if some kind 'census holder' will help me:
I'm looking for DANIEL CAREY and wife ADDIE (or ADA) NORTHAM in Marshall

I would appreciate a lookup for John F. Lingg.
He was living in Sac City, Sac co. in 1891.
His age in 1900 would have been about 53. Wife would be Anna Elisa.
Children are May, John Earl, Forest and possibly Silas who died at age 7.
Thank you for your time,
Linda McDowell in California
Is there someone who would be able to check the 1885 Iowa census,
Maquoketa, Jackson county for a Waty M. JONES. If there, she would be
about 80 years old and possibly listed with a Rebecca LIVERMORE
[daughter] and Frank/Francis WATSON [grandson]. Thank you for your help.
Would you consider a look-up for the following person/s?
Jens Clausen Brinkman/n
Born 23 March 1875 Toftlund Germany (Schleswig/Holstein)
Immigrated 6 June 1893 aboard SS Thingvalla
Filed declaration for naturalization 8 June 1899 in District Court, Clinton County, Iowa
Jens traveled to Iowa with a cousin, Peter Westergard. I have no info on Peter other than the ship manifest. I can find nothing about Jens for the years 1893 through 1902 with the exception of the reference on his original naturalization papers to the filing of his declaration in Clinton County in 1899. The next documentation I have is the marriage certificate from Black Hawk County dated Feb 1902.
I am trying to close this gap in Jens' history and have seen a reference to an Iowa state census of 1895. Does any one have access to this census? I have not been able to find Jens on the 1900 census through the Soundex nor by checking line by line in the microfilm of Black Hawk and Grundy Counties. He and Peter both surely are somewhere in eastern half of Iowa in 1893 -1901, but I'm at a loss on how to find them. Finding any reference to Peter might help me pin point Jens.
Any help you might offer is certainly appreciated. Carol Brinkman
Could someone with this resource, please share the information from the
1900 U.S. Census, IOWA, Emmet Co., Estherville Township, for
ASIAS BUCY (aka ASA - variants of surname as Bucey/ Busey/ Busy/ Busee, etc), b. 1833 (67 in 1900), in MD, his wife
ELIZA JANE BUCY, b. ca. 1835, in OH. Possible children in household
MARTHA, b. ca. 1857
NORMAN, b. ca. 1872
CHARLES, b. c.a 1875
FRANK, b. ca. 1879
CORA, b. after 1880
Bucy sounds like a simple name, but I have found many strange variants. In FHL 1880 transcription, it is given as "Bircy" - I found it in Indiana funeral home records as "Boesie".
Would greatly appreciate any help you can give me with this return.
Thanks for reading my query.
