There is a Richard ROWLANDS aged 13 b Llanelly in 1881 census at
Llangendeirne, Carmarthenshire on Familysearch, with parents John and
Margaret, brothers and a nephew. RG11 5394 f50 p5
It might be worth looking to see whether the age is transcribed wrongly. Of
course the 1901 age might be wrong.
In 1891 the civil parish they would be in would be expected to be
Ystradyfodwg or Llanwonno for Porth, Llantrisant for Dinas.
Glamorgan FHS now has the Rhondda 1891 transcription available on CD at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~wlsglfhs/cdfp.htm .
It could well be that the transcription is more accurate than that on
certain web sites.
There is a Richard ROWLANDS marriage in the December quarter of 1882, in
Pontypridd registration district, which covered places such as Porth and
Dinas. There is one female name missing from that page ( 11a 653) so this
might be them. A Sarah Ann COBLEY is recorded marrying on page 654. Possibly
worth checking the page image in case of mis-transcription, but might be
coincidence.
