Hi Sue.I reviewed the possibility some time ago, that your Jennet ROSSER,was the relation
of my cousin.
I did find a William ROSSER,a possible candidate of YOUR[or your down under friends]Jennet
ROSSER,s father,was indeed
a labourer,and living in Glan-y-nant St;Brides Minor.From the 1851 census...
This William ROSSER,together with his wife Catherine[he aged 62,and a General Labourer,she
57, both born st;brides minor]were the 3 times great,grandparents
of my cousin.
Unfortunately,Your JENNET ROSSER,was'nt listed in the St;Brides Minor baptisms, and she
was'nt at home again in the 1841 census either,as she was a servant aged 14 to a
Llewellyn REES aged 80.
If however you think there is enough evidence on what Ive given you,to make this Jennet to
be the Daughter of my cousin,s ancestor,I will throw more information your way,on the
earlier generations, and my cousin James,s line too..
Until I hear from you Again then,Ta ta for now.Graham.
Graham Williams of Canton,Cardiff.

Good Morning All,
Thanks to every one who has helped with this place name, and offers of help
if I give more information. This is the best List with the greatest people
on it. I will try and keep it short.
Jennet nee Rosser died in Australia 1919 b c 1825
m William Glover in 1859 (Jennets age 32 b c 1827)
we have the cirtificate. m St Brides Minor. Her father was a William Rosser
labourer, she is shown as servant.
There is a choice of 3 from the Glam fhs census for 1851
1) Janet b c 1829 farm servant in St Brides Minor with a family at Tyn Y
Coed (the ship arriving in Australia has a female farm servant aboard, but
the name is wrong)
2) Jennet house servant b c 1836 (too young)
3) Jennet from Llansamlet b c1831, we know this one had a father named
William who was a coal miner.
There was a fourth, but she is on the 1861 census, and still unmarried.
Any help gratefuly appreciated, I do not know which way to go next, or which
one to pick.
Thanks to Glam fhs Census c.d's for the information, and Parish Chest for
supplying them.
Sue Smith from Chester.
