Subject: Re James Little Bridgend
Hi List,
I'm not sure if anyone can help.
My Grandfather was JAMES LITTLE, christened in 1873 at Bedweity and married
in the same place in 1912.
I have a photograph of him with my Grandmother in Bridgend. He is dressed in
a suit and tie displaying a sash
and a medal, some high award which he had bestowed upon him. This I presume
would not have been too long
after he married. Could this have been in the 'Oddfellows' or maybe
someother organisation peculiar to this area ?
Sadly all documents connected with this were destroyed in a house fire and
as I cannot read anything from the photo
would be very interested if anyone could help in finding out about this
award. I wondered if maybe I could glean something
from archived newspapers or if anyone could let me know which organisations
were in that area in and around the 1920's
and onwards.
Any information would be most welcomed. I know a little of my Welsh line and
am slowly progessing but this would be
great to add to my file.
Diolch yn Fawr
Rita.
