Thanks for that, Pamela. What I particularly need is information as to what
became of Annie and her brother, David after 1901. I think I have the right
connection for Annie in the USA incoming passenger details and the family in
Gwyn Street but what I suppose I really need is to find descendants who can
confirm this an d hopefully tell me more.

In 1891 the family was still in Gwyn Street, father a blacksmith, Annie a
dressmaker and David J a colliery clerk. In 1901 they were still there
though David senior had died. David J was by then a colliery agent and
Annie was again described as a dressmaker.

Annie Jones is shown in the records as entering the USA in 1907. The records
show that she was, at that time, single, a dressmaker, aged 36, five foot 2
inches tall with fair complexion, black hair and brown eyes. She had been
born at Alltwen near Swansea but her home for almost 5 years had been with
her brother, David J Jones, at 4138, Delevan Street, Pittsburgh. She seems
to have been returning to Pennsylvania after a visit back home to South
Wales.
I have found an Annie Jones and a David J Jones in the 1881 census for
Cilypebill, Pontardawe, Glamorgan. It shows the family of David and Gwen
Jones living at Gwyn Street. Alltwen. The family includes an Annie age 12
and a David J age 8. This is certainly the right age for Annie and could
well be for David.
Does anyone know of Annie and David?
