Hello Barbara and list,
That was me. Glad you won the calendar!
The reference library, Carolyn, is on leave this week and it was her who
asked me to publicise the competition as it was only advertised locally.
On Tuesday evenings the room is open until 7-30pm. It is usually pretty
quiet then. Daytime can be busy in the library. You don't have to book
up, just on a first come, first served basis.
As a matter of interest, I spoke to Alun Jones the Glamorgan Family
History Society Editor on Sunday and he told me that Carolyn had
submitted some pictures of Donny at Merthyr library and also an article
on him which will appear in a future journal publication.
best regards

Hello List,
Regarding the Genealogy Room at Merthyr Library it is open to those who wish
to use it for Family History, it was around the 23rd of January another list
member mentioned in his email about a competion regarding Donny's visit to
the Library, and there was calendars signed by Donny himself, I would like to
say that I have won one of those and would like to thank the person who
brought this to my attention.
I spoke to the lady in Merthyr ten minutes ago, and it was this person who
mentioned that they would like everyone to be aware that the room is there.
Regards Barbara
