Weren't those who won the County Scholarship listed in the local paper? I've
got a copy of the announcement from my Taid when he won his in Anglesey.
I've also got a copy of my mum in the paper when she passed her 11+

Hi.,
There were quite a few Grammar Schools around but quite often scholars
would
board. My mother born 1908 had a scholarship and went to Cowbridge High
School as a boarder. She lived in LLanttrisant only 10 miles approx ,away.
There was also a very old established Boys Grammar school there. However I
expect it would have been in Penarth or Cardiff.I will have a think .
Cheers,
Sue in LLantrisant

E-mail etiquette pays dividends! Put SURNAMES in the Subject line and
CAPITALISE surnames in the text. Other text CAPITALisation = shouting!
Only repeat as much of an earlier message as clarity requires.
