Hi Graham,
Why take a trip to PCWorld? Try Gareth's option. I would rather buy from a
Family Historian [Trevor Rix of TWR Computing] than one of those High Street
stores who would not be able to answer any query that you had about the
programme or its compatability with other programmes etc., that you have.
FT Maker is not the best programme out there, but it does have good layout
'cards' and it does write reports and charts quite well.
Take care to read whatever you purchase anyhow. I am sure that when a lady
asked my opinion of the FTM 'Who do you think you are' programme in PC
World. [I do go there of course! But just wouldn't buy a genealogy programme
there] when we read the box it was not the full programme. Trevor Rix does
have the FULL programme though as well as a free ancestry subscription for a
limited amount of days.
BTW - recently I had to print out my Family tree. I tried two of my
programmes and both came to 20 pages. This was just too big for what I
wanted to add to a book. Took a look at good old Reunion and my husband
sorted it for me and the final tree was 8 pages - much easier to handle.
Best wishes,
Jill
