The Crown copyrights don't transfer, anyone can make use of any Crown
Copyright, even put it online if you want. All Ancestry can do is to
copyright the index. Don't worry that your well, basically national treasure
is being owned. Not to say Ancestry mightn't love to own it <G> they don't.

| Alwyn Hi,
| Yes I agree Wales records in Wales;I was thinking of the other records as
being in Kew and therefore the collection complete there.
|
| I am still concerned about 'a company having control ' even if they are in
theory only going to manage the access on line.
|
| This is where many of the problems occurr when people get involved with
Ancestry and as I am sure you have read of people who have hassle with
accounts{ me included until I challenged their Lawyer}.and high power
marketing.
|
| Is it still possible to go to Kew if you are able and access all that 1837
Online will control?
| And again who are 1837 0n line??
|
| I know that it is, in many cases market forces have actually improved our
access and I have no problem with making payment as long as situations do
not get so market driven that the clients have problems.
|
| Thanks for your mail anyway. Perhaps I am being too iffy.
|
| Cheers,
| Sue in LLantrisant.

| Many of the original parish registers for Glamorgan are transcribed. If
you haven't a fiche reader, don't worry - your local library will probably
let you use theirs! See the FHS Website:-

| Purchase the 1841;1851;1861 census CDs & Llansamlet Parish Registers.
| Also as fiche and booklets from the Glamorgan FHS
