I am doing some reading regarding WWI. I was especially interested that
people had to go to the trouble of actioning an oath that was then published
in order to inform people that they had no links with Germany & Austria.

Three Swansea Men.
- (1) Stoker William AHEARNE, of 5 Ann-street, Swansea, lost his life on
H.M.S. Goliath, and leaves a widow, and 6 children.
(2) News has been received in Swansea of the death of Rifleman David
WILLIAMS, son of Mrs Margaret WILLIAMS, Corner House, Brynhyfryd.
deceased belonged to the 11th Battalion Rifle Brigade, and died of wounds
in
Aldershot.
(3) Corporal G. Emanuel LAGUE 2nd Welsh, was killed in action at
L'Epinette,
on may 9th.
The deceased lived at 43, Pant-street, St. Thomas, he leaves a wife and two
children.

Fareham, Hampshire, and that my Mother was of pure British extraction.
(2) That my Father was a Russian Pole born in the Roman Catholic Faith.
he came to England in the year 1837, and was shortly afterwards naturalised
as a British Subject.
(3) That I am not of a German or Austrian Origin.

Richard Turner EVANS, a clerk at the Great Western Colliery Offices,
Pontypridd, was knocked down by a motor-car, and killed near the Hollybush
Hotel,
Hafod, on Friday.
Mr EVANS, was the son of W. T. EVANS, Wood-road, Trethomas.
He was a married man, his family residing at Foundry-place, Coedpenmaen.
The car was driven by William James EDWARDS.

Mrs BOALCH, of 38, Knole-street, Cardiff, has 6 sons serving with the
Colours- Sydney, Charles, Edward, Frank, John and Tom.
Mr and Mrs James POWELL, of 24, Alexander-street Tredegar, have three sons
serving with the forces. Privates, Ernest, Mark, and Oliver POWELL.
Newbridge Widows three sons- Mrs H. WILLIAMS, 28, Blaenblodau-street,
Newbridge, Privates, J. - A. E -and W. E. WILLIAMS.
