On the Glamorgan FHS transcription CD under enumeration district 35 in the
Bridgend section it reads
35A.LLANBLETHIAN
B *
B Part of the Parish of Llanblethian. N.B. This is all that
remains of this Enumeration Book.
B The whole of Cowbridge is also missing.
Only three households appear on that surviving fragment.
On Ancestry if you select 1841 Census, then 1841 Wales Census, there is a
big section if you scroll down the page about the nature of the census, how
the census was organised, and known problems with it. It lists the areas for
which the census enumerators books do not seem to have survived, including,
in Glamorganshire, Cowbridge and most of Llanblethian parish in piece 1416.
It also mentions the huge parts of Merthyr Tydfil for which the 1841 census
does not seem to have survived.

Subject: [GLA] 1841 Cowbridge Census
Dear List:
I have been trying to find the 1841 Census for Cowbridge. I've looked at
Findmypast, Ancestry, and FamilySearch; and I can't seem to find
Cowbridge. I'm trying to find William Thomas, a skinner, who died in 1844
in Cowbridge at age 73 and who was born about 1770/71 somewhere else. I
believe he was a widower by 1841.
Any suggestions?
