It may be that at the time of burial there was some sort of record made.
Whether that record survives is a totally different question, particularly
if the graveyard is no longer in use for new burials. If the graveyard is
still in use, the obvious place for such a record would be in a safe on the
Chapel premises, but things are not always kept in obvious places.
If the graveyard and/or the chapel is/are no longer in use, a possibility
would be Glamorgan Archives in Cardiff.

A quick look at the listing of holdings at Glamorgan Archives shows a few
items relating to the chapel, such as a 1915 document in Welsh, a postcard
dated about 1910, and architectural drawings, but nothing obviously
resembling a graveyard plan or listing.

Subject: [GLA] Groeswen Independent chapel
Hi
Make enquiry is in relation to Groeswen Independent Chapel (Whitecross),
Caerphilly
Trying to locate where someone is buried within this graveyard – believe
the grave has no headstone as there is no mention of it in the M.I’s but
no that the couple are buried here.
I’m assuming every church/chapel graveyard has records of who is buried
where ? Is anybody able to tell me where I can find such records for this
particular Chapel ?
Many thanks
Evelyn
