Graham,
Are there any family stories about where she lived and who she was living
with at the start of the War? If she was 14 she would probably have been
living with her mother unless fostered or adopted (or in residential
school).
In 1911 there was a FENDER family living in Pontyberem (Llanelly
Registration district, parish of Llangendeirne. They were all from Swansea
apart from the mother who was from Pembrokeshire. There were two girls, a
22-year-old who married in 1912 in Llanelly district, and an 11-year-old.
I think the mother must have been widowed and married Thomas MILLARD in
1919
Can you ask the son whether the address Kyle Crescent ( which I think is
off
Manor Way, Whitchurch/Birchgrove) means anything. Was his grandmother a
nurse? If so I think I have found them and will email you off-list
Jeff

Graham,
If she is still alive she will be redacted in the 1939 Register.
