Dear List:
I am trying to find sources to prove the deaths of my ggg-grandparents, John Jenkin(s) who
was a shoemaker-cordwainer-bootmaker by trade, and Elizabeth Thomas Jenkins. They were
married in 1811, lived in Cowbridge (according to the baptisms of their children), and
probably/possibly died before civil registration. Her parents, William Thomas and Ann
(David) Thomas lived in Cowbridge as well. We have death certificates for them which tie
them to each other and to the Jenkins family.
I've looked at Cowbridge Parish records on line and on microfilm, at Findmypast and
FamilySearch, at tithe maps, militia lists, and land tax records for Cowbridge. There is
no 1841 census available (according to my understanding).
So I'm wondering if you can suggest family records that might be hidden away in
libraries or family history organizations which might be accessed from the internet, as I
live in the US. If possible, contact information would be helpful.
Thank you.
