The Swansea Branch of Glamorgan Family History Society will be holding a
Family History Research Support Session at Swansea Central Library, the
Civic Centre, Swansea on Thursday 9th November 2017 from 6pm to 7.45pm in
the 'Discovery Room' on the upper floor of the Library area.
This room is equipped with a suite of online computers which can be used for
internet-based searches, and we will also have our society's databases and
various local indexes available on laptops.
The Local Studies area of the Library which is adjacent has other resources
such as maps, tithe schedules, and newspapers on microfilm.
The aim is to help members and others to research their families, and to
show what resources are available to help them. A number of committee
members will be on hand to help.
If you are coming along, bring notes of what you know and what you are
looking for, and perhaps a USB memory stick if you are hoping to save new
information found at this session.
It may be helpful to email me beforehand to say you are coming, maybe
indicating briefly any family puzzle you might hope to make progress with.
The session is open to the public and there is no charge.
