I am not sure whether this is relevant or not, from the 'Cambrian' local
newspaper in Swansea
01 December 1854 INQUEST REPORT ON SAMUEL ANDREWS,MINER, DROWNED IN NEATH
AND SWANSEA CANAL.
This is the only reference to a Samuel Andrews that I found around this
date. There were also in Swansea a John Andrews, potato merchant, who also
seems to have kept the Museum Inn on the quay. Later on a William Andrews of
the same address married in South Molton, Devon in July 1857 to Lucy Nott.
There were also other Andrews in Swansea and Neath Abbey area, including
Thornton Andrews, manager of the Gas Works, Joseph Andrews and Charles
Shimell Andrews.

Subject: [GLA] Swansea Union
Was the Swansea Union a workhouse?
If so can anyone find the birth of Samuel Andrews(or Parker)
born July 1855. ( I have a birth certficate with this information)
Father listed as Samuel Andrews (Baker Journeyman) - Mother Ellen
Andrews (formerly Parker).
If I have the right couple they left two children in the Bideford
Workhouse,Devon.
Appreciate any help you can give me.
Ellen may have given a false name, Samuel Andrews was married to Eliza
Parker
Regards
Daphne
