John Patrick,
Thanks very much indeed for this, it is extremely unlikely I would ever
have found it myself. I'm pretty sure that the Lucy BEVAN, bridesmaid,
was my second cousin once removed, though unfortunately there is another
Lucy around at the time, but would have been rather old to be a
bridesmaid. 'My' Lucy also married in St. John's, in 1927.
Thanks again,
Dai Bevan

At St. John's Church, Skewen, on Easter Monday two members of the choir- Mr. D.
Charles HODDINOTT, fifth son of Mr. and Mrs. HODDINOTT, of Broadway, Cardiff, and Miss
Mary MARTIN, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. MARTIN, of Springfield, Skewen- wre married
by the vicar (the Rev. D. MORRIS), assisted by the Rev. J.D. MORGAN, curate. The bride
attired in blue crepe, was given away by her father, and was attended by three bridemaids-
Misses A. May MARTIN, Pontardawe (cousin); Lucy BEVAN (Skewen), and Dodo HODDINOTT
(Cardiff). The bridegroom's brother was best man.
After the ceremony there was a reception at the bride's house. Later, the happy
couple left for Torquay, where the honeymoon is being spent.
