Subject: [GLA] Understanding the handwriting on a census
Hi
On the 1881 census for Pentyrch RG11/5275 there is a John Evans. The
transcription (on Ancestry) of his occupation says 'Hobler (Harb and
Ser)'
but I make the text in the brackets to be (Harb** Serv) or could be
(Harb &
Serv). The Serv bit is presumably servant. The 'Harb' bit could be
'haberdasher' - any other ideas / explanation?
Thanks
Tommy
