Yes Gareth, This is her with her father.
I have all the censuses and info on the family to 1921 and then continuing
to my own family. My search is for mainly before 1851...I am going back in
time to find out where Mary Ann was born in 1836 then have to find who
Timothys 1st wife was, where and when she died So it looks like after I
search through England and Wales thoroughly, I am left with searching
through Ireland, until I get the Mary Ann with her father shown as Timothy.
Havent found any with Timothy as her father yet but will keep on trying. I
have Timothys death certificate in 1872 and his fathers name is known as
Redmond. I have found 2 Redmond Fitzgeralds
First with his wife Ann Corry married in 1787 (Tim was born 1784) and
another married to Ann Larkin showing a baptism of a daughter Mary born in
1781. I am starting to think this 2nd one might be Timothys parents but
cannot find his birth anywhere. But will keep on searching this line. I
found a tombstone for Redmond Fitzgerald in 1766 in Mallow so that name must
have been popular with the Fitzgerald Family.
So my search continues...
Kind regards,
Mary

Hello Mary
Could your Mary's father have been here grandfather. In the 1851 Census he
is aged 67 and she is only 15.

Think he is getting mixed up with Mary Ann Hooley my great Aunt born in

My g/grandparents were Thomas Hooley b.1835 Ireland and Mary Ann Fitzgerald
b. 1835 both shown as Ireland. They married in Swansea in 1856.I have found
I had the wrong dates until I checked out the Marriage Certificate. Thomas's
father was Martin Hooley who I have not been able to find, and Mary Ann's
father was Timothy Fitzgerald whose history I have till his death in Swansea
in 1872.
I have emailed this list before about a real puzzle in this family. I have
been told of the strict naming pattern in Irish Families ie., first son
named for the fathers father etc. First son and 2nd child , born 1860, was
named William but Thomas's father is shown as Martin Hooley a Mason by
trade, who was deceased by 1856, the date of their wedding. No other boys
births before William ? Eldest child was a girl, Mary Ann born 1858.
Martin's name only comes up in 1871 and deceased the same year and he was
the 9th child. Also eldest daughter Mary Ann born 1858 named for her mother
or mothers mother?
I am now going to check through a census in Cheshire where a family named
Hooley , with no father in the household, has a son Thomas b. 1835. Might
see where this leads me!!
If anyone has any ideas regarding this family, I would appreciate hearing
from you. I have all the Hooley Censuses in Wales to 1901 and a lot of the
g/aunts and uncles marriages and families. So would like to hear of Martins
death before 1857 or any info before 1835.
