Hello everyone,
It's a very long time since I put out an enquiry as to whether anyone else is
researching part of my Williams family.
This is about my grandfather's brother, Thomas Williams. My grandfather's brother
and his family lived in Llanbradach, Caerphilly area, and I'm hoping for some help to
trace descendants of that branch.
I would appreciate any information that could help further my search in looking for these
William/es.
What I already have is below.
With thanks,
Dilys, in Essex
Thomas Williams, Llanbradach. Probably known as Tom Williams,
[Younger brother to the Rev William Williams, both born circa 1850s in Llanwinio, Carms.]
Thomas Williams was born in Carmarthenshire in 1859.
Thomas moved from Carms to the Rhondda Valley with his father John Williams jnr, in search
of work in the colliery.
He later lived in Llanbradach, near Caerphilly, at the time of the 1881 and 1891
censuses.
He was a colliery 'Winding engineman' at the Llanbradach colliery, and was a
deacon at the local Methodist chapel.
He had five children. One of his daughters had a millinery shop in the High Street at
Llanbradach..
His son, Rowland Llewellyn Williams, emigrated to the US around 1900.
