John - I too was born in Wales and now live in Ohio.
Don't put any sign in/on your car. Get a diesel, as it is cheaper/mile. Shop
for the cheapest, and check back a week before you leave, as they may
upgrade you. If you can manage a stick-shift it'll be even cheaper. Some
companies don't charge for an additional driver.
Regards - Terry

Hi John
I would recommend hiring a car - you can hire on line
from the USA from
Alamo car hire - Plus if you google you'll find a coupon. I was born in
Wales, but never drove. Now Live In Australia, same side of the road -
However also lived in the USA for two years. Yes I did drive in the USA
- made plenty of mistakes.!!!!!!!!!My own personal advise to you is hire
a car, make a sign for your back window ."Tourist on holiday from USA,
please be patient". Take it easy for a few days just to get your
bearings and you will do fine. Welsh are very kind on the roads and
forgiving -Trust me!!! You have legs on wheels and can explore, it is
well worth it. The last thing you want when you get home, was wish I
could have gone here or there.
Happy holidays.

PS never got stopped by the US police

Hi Jeff
The building to which you are referring, which was on the site of Clos
Bryngwyn,
was Bryngwyn Hall. It was owned by a Jack Mason and became a
night club. It was approached from Gorseinon Road via Railway Terrace.
Bryngwyn Bach is about 500m to the north east of there as the crow flies.
There seems to be a footpath following the old approach to Bryngwyn Hall
from Railway Terrace, which skirts the west side of Clos Bryngwyn and comes
out near its junction with Ffordd Bryngwyn.

Hello Jan,
As others have said the cheapest is to use FreeBMD and FreeCen
(census) to search for your Parfitt, probably more comprehensive is
Ancestry which you can access free for 1 hour at most English
Libraries.
