I am no expert on Cwm Clydach . That place even holds a mystery for me
which
one day I hope to solve.
But I can help you a little in respect of Bush Houses.
This was a double row of cottages built to house the miners at
Blaenclydach
Colliery/ Cwm Clydach Colliery in appr 1864, a short distance away - from
the air, the rows formed a 'Y' shape.
There was even a church and a chapel closely attached to houses.
The local nickname for the houses was 'White City'
There is a photograph of the houses here:
http://archive.rhondda-cynon-taf.gov.uk/treorchy/index.php?a=wordsearch&a...
Nothing remains of these now. The houses were demolished many years ago.
The
entire area was landscaped.
