I just learned tonight I have my biological father was part Welsh. My
Welsh husband is ecstatic. This means our children are just that much more
Welsh. My ggrandfather was David GETHEN from the Cardiff area, poss. south
of there. When he went to a church to convert to Catholicism his family
hit the roof. I know they changed their names to GRIFFITH.
My David GETHEN married a Rosie Donahue from Limerick area.
Not searching yet.
My question is GETHEN really a Wales name? If so, how common was it. It
is not like my husband's GRIFFITHS/JONES/EVANS or even WILLIAMS.
Does that mean when I begin my Wales search it may be a bit easier. LOL
Thanks in advance for any info.
Oh I forgot they were coal minors and went to Pitt., PA.
