Dear Friends
My great-great grandfather, Thomas JEPSON, born approx.1816 in Over Darwen
married Nancy MARSDEN in Over Darwen, born approx. 1816.
Thomas started off as a coal miner and then became a contractor. He
operated the Grey Horse Inn in Wellington-fold, and at the same time
conducted his extensive business as a builder and contractor. He moved from
Darwen to Swansea in South Wales and continued as a builder and contractor.
He became one of the owners of Jones & JEPSON, Contractors of Cardiff and
Neath. He did extensive construction in South Wales and and became known as
a very prominent person. He accidentally drowned while inspecting one of
his jobs on the Ely Water Works. An inquest was held a Ely Bridge, the
drowning was ruled accidental, and the body was returned to Darwen for
burial. He died on May 7, 1881 at the age of approx 60.
Trying to find deceased JEPSON'S and contact living JEPSON'S in South
Wales.
Thank you for considering my FIRST request on this mailing list.
