Thanks for this information Sheila in California.
Now some questions: Should we include a sae or IRC? Is there a charge
for the information? If anyone has already requested information, how
long did it take for Smedley Hydro to process the application?
The reason for the last question is because I will be in UK during March,
and I would like to be able to give my UK address for reply if they
process the request fairly speedily.
TIA

Another useful piece of information, this time for anyone wishing to
access
the UK 1901 census.
Whilst this census will not be available for public viewing until 2001, it is
possible to obtain information on specific individuals residing at a specific
address on proof of relationship.
The following will be required:
· Address to be searched
· Who you expect to find there
· Reason for the request (in our case `genealogical')
· Relationship to the family
· Consent of occupants who are still living
· Assurances that the information will not be disclosed, or misused, to the
detriment of any person, and will not be used in litigation.
Details of intended publication of the data supplied.
