I think it may be COED CYNLAN written as COED CINLLAN or CIMLLAN and
referring to the woods (coed) of the Cynlan stream.

The name Cosdrimllan does not look right.
The first part of the word could perhaps be COED (Welsh for wood) and the
LLAN at the end looks OK. Llan is usually found at the start of a place
name indicating a church (Llandeilo = Church of St. Teilo).
Perhaps someone fluent can make something of the middle part.
In my postcode directory, only 12 of the current 50 properties listed at
Welsh St. Donats have Welsh names and none look anything like this, although
it could of course be in any other parish.

Richard

Subject: [GLA] Edward Savours - Cosdrimllan ?
Hello List,
I have been studying the 1747 Will of Richard Leyson of Welsh St Donats.
That Will refers to an Edward Savours and the place Edward is from appears
to be written Cosdrimllan. Have I butchered the name in my transcription?
Is anyone familiar with the Savours family to tell me if this Edward Savours
was related to Robert Savours, the nephew of Thomas Leyson of Ramsbury,
Wiltshire? I do know that Robert Savours was the son of Richard Savours and
Mary Leysons (sister of the Thomas Leyson who was from Ramsbury).
Thanks!
David Attride
