Hi Graham & List
I need to correct a few points from our previous e-mail correspondence on these premises.
I am reliably informed that the photograph to which Robert supplied a link is of
Nicholaston House not Hall.
Parc Le Breos is in Penmaen parish and not in Ilston parish.
The riding and trekking centre at Parc Le Breos is in fact part of Parc le Breos House and
not Parc Le Breos Farm, which is a working farm.
For Parc Le Breos House, see

Subject: [GLA] BOWEN of Courthouse.
Again,my grateful thanks to Jeff and Richard.
I guess the Pedigee's of the BOWEN's Jeff, were worked out the same way I worked
them out.
That is to say through Limbus patrum et morgannie.
There are also several "Will"s from the P.C.C;listed.
Interestingly,There is a mention of when the surname changed from "Ap OWEN"to
BOWEN.
They took the surname of "ap owen" about 1441 which was the same year they
purchased Courthouse.
The BOWEN's of Llangyfellach took the surname about 1550.
In The Courthouse family it changed to BOWEN at the beginning of the reign of Queen
Elizabeth the first.
[R.1558-1603]
In the "Will"of Henry or Harry BOWEN of Courthouse dated 1582,he mentions his
eldest son and his two brother's as "Ap Owen",whilst he refers to his two
youngest sons as "BOWEN".
As the "Testator" also describes himself as "BOWEN".
Looking through the whole pedigree,he mentions that it is extracted from Limbus Patrum
Morgannie et Morganniae,By G.T;CLARK.
Other stuff is from the P.R.O;
Getting back to Limbus.
There is a pedigree of a few generations of the FRANKLEN family of Nicholaston Hall.
My GETHIN's were quite probably there in the 17th;century.
They were related to the FRANKLEN's via The CRADOCK's of Long Ash.
There was also an earlier GETHIN Pedigree in Limbus.
Quite possibly related to my lot somehow?
Ive gone back to Griffith GETHYN ,of Penmaen, who's "Will"was made out in
1625,and mentions his son,my Ancestor Robert GETHIN in the Will.
Cheers Graham.
