Hi Graham
Caerwigga is in The Vale of Glamorgan. It is about a mile south of Pendoylan, on the road
to Bonvilston, where it crosses the road from Welsh St. Donats to Gwern y Steeple and
Peterston Super Ely.
There are two farms, Caerwiga Isaf (lower) and Caerwigau Uchaf (upper), both farms are (as
usual) set back from the road and streetview doesn't show much.
There is also a Caerwigae Mill (which appears now to be a house, about 50 yards from the
stream). I've used the spellings as they appear on the Ordnance Survey Maps.

Subject: [GLA] CRADOCK of Long Ash.
Richard,
My connections to Long Ash Bishopston in Gower is through My CRADOCK family of that
Place.
William CRADOCK of Long Ash born about 1540 was married to Mawd BOWEN of Courthouse.
Mawd was born about 1540.
Her mother was Ellen FRANKLEN of Parc le Breos. She was the wife of Harry[Henry]Thomas
BOWEN of Courthouse, who died in 1582.I have his "Will".
Ive got the FRANKLEN Line back 5 generations to William FRANKLEN who was around in the
1300's period. He held lands in Caerwigga.
Anyone know where that was?
I have the CRADOCK's in Long Ash up to Anne CRADOCK who was born there around 1630.
Her husband was Robert GETHIN probably of Nicholaston Hall who died in 1683.
These two were my 9 x great,grandparents.
The above from J.B.DAVIES revised edition of Limbus Patrum et Morgannie, and Thomas
NICHOLS book on Glamorganshire Families.
Hi Graham
Courthouse farm certainly still exists, I walked past it a few years ago. Parc le Breos
house is a 19th century building and now a guest house, Parc Le Breos farm is now a riding
and trekking centre. Courthouse is on the eastern side of Ilston parish and Parc Le Breos
is on the western side, about 2 miles away as the crow flies.
