Hi there,
It also works the other way also.
When this list came up, I contacted the writer re :- a relevant name in a
particular location.
I was then fortunate to have sent to me relavant details of the particular
family, which I found extremely useful.
It also triggered areas of research, which hopefully I can trace ancestors
in that particular line, and, in so doing may be of help to the person
posting. In this case Chris.
Once again Chris many thanks for your info'.
Regards,
Clive.

That is absolutely correct Cindy, a list of surnames would not be of much
use but just a little point you overlooked - each name was linked to
specific areas and intended to touch base with anyone else who might
happen
to have an interest with that name in that particular area.
May be I should of listed the 1000 names from my family tree , but sorry
to
say I have much better things to do then type all that in !
And if you quote someone please have the courtesy to repeat the text as
posted ! i.e. the lack of the locations !
Chris writes..."I'm interested in any information on the following names
....
Richard(s), William(s), Jones, Rees, Jenkins(s), Lloyd, Owen, David,
Davies,
Bryant, Morgan, Thomas"
Aren't we all? <;o) (Hey, Gareth, I have news for you - emoticons will
become more common with the use of Weblish. Grin and bear it - just not
in
public, please.)
That's one thing I love about this list - when someone lists their family
names, I sit here and say, "well, that's my family name, and that one, and
that one, and that one, and that one, and that one...." It never happens
on
any of my other mailing lists. No one is ever searching for my
family.
After all, I think the aliens dropped them off. <VBG> Thank God for the
Welsh. My family may fit in somewhere.
