Although booklets and fiche copies of transcriptions are not expensive, I am a firm
advocate of placing as much information as possible on the web for direct access by
researchers. Since uploading my own MI indexes for Bettws and Taff's Well, I have
become conscious of on-line MI information for a number (albeit a very small number!) of
other locations. These range from full transcriptions to simply lists of names. Some of
them are recent while others are re-published 19th century transcriptions, and may
therefore include material has since been degraded or destroyed. With the exception of
my own work, I clearly cannot vouch for the accuracy or completeness of these details, but
they do represent a resource which people with interests in the relevant areas might wish
to consult. To assist in tracing them, I have started developing a set of links within my
website at "www.oldroots.co.uk". As yet, the list covers only about 50
churchyards and cemeteries in a relatively small number of counties. Fewer
than 10 are in Glamorgan (the county with the largest number so far is Gloucestershire).
So it's very much a matter of pot-luck whether they will be of help to an individual
researcher. I will add new links as I discover them.
