Hi
Looking for the 1841 wales census please with this family. JONES of
course details below and any help will be appreciated. I have looked and
can't find them. I have them on the 1861 census as seen below.
David Hosea Jones 70
Elizabeth Jones 60
David Jones 22
William Jones 16
Swansea
Sub-registration district: Llangafelach
ED, institution, or vessel: 14
Regards
Karen.
This has probably been replied to by now but if not.....
Records between 1894 and 1941 will be found at the Glamorgan Record Office.
However, do remember that these will be written in Welsh.
The best chance for a photograph is if the chapel produced a history.
There is also a book "Old Caerphilly and district in photographs" but I have
no idea if this chapel will be featured. And, in my own research, these
books are quite sparse when it comes to photographs of chapels.

I am astonished by Shanna's statement

Anyone who uses Hugh Wallis's site
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumb...
will still find that properly extracted series of baptism entries from
parish registers that were in the IGI are still searchable by those batch
numbers.
However, searching on Marriages using this tool has produce no results on
batches starting with M in several parishes that I am familiar with.
Of course you can still go into Familysearch in the usual way and do a
search for something that you know is in the IGI.
The results that come up will show from International Genealogical Index /
British Isles
However, looking for marriages in a parish in Cornwall that I have
researched a lot, it looks as if all the systematically extracted marriages
have been ripped out of the database and all that is left is the ones
submitted by LDS members, some of which have in fact been very accurately
recorded.
It does seem a great pity that LDS should remove a facility that has been of
such value to Family History researchers over so many years.
Maybe someone from LDS can explain why.

To all <G> please use the feedback button. The LDS is making a huge
website and it isn't always running smoothly <G> the more reasoned and
succinct feedback they get the more they can make this a website we
can love.
There are huge threads with all of us moaning about the new Beta
search when the Pilot site was so good (Beta is like the familysearch
search, not easy to focus or limit. Let them know what you like and
don't like.

Hello Kelli
Try this link and click view all. On the right hand side will be some extra information such as "Saved to Public Family Trees"; " Saved to Private Family Trees" and "More Records about Evan Davies"

ps What do you mean if I look at 1861 there are other people interested in him. Who are these people?
The 1851 Census says David is a Smith and on the wedding certificate it says he is a farmer. Would this be common? I did find an Evan Davies in the 1851 Census living with and 80 year old woman (I suspect grandmother) and two families up there is a David Davies and family. ? I found an 1841 Census Cardiganshire Llan ddewi Aber arth where there is a David Davies farmer and an Evan Davies son with NO mother.
Do you see my confusion? I don't know the little towns in Wales enough to know if I'm right next door or across the county or country.
Hello Kelli
In 1851 Evan is with his parents
David Davies 62
Jane Davies 68
Living at the Horse? & PLough Llanarth Cardiganshire.
If you check out the 1861 Census you will see that there are several people interested in him

Marriage certificate has his father as DAVID DAVIES farmer. I can't find Evan's mother-David's wife's name anywhere. Many Evan Davies in the 1851 Census, few with David's but with no mother's name I don't know where to go next.
Hello list,
Does somebody keep this book and is there a photo in it of Noddfa Chapel,
Senghenydd?
Also please with other pictures of Senghenydd around 1910-1930.
Elwyn - netherlands.
Can someone who knows Wales tell me if there is anything even close about these two towns:
Llansilio, Cardiganshire
Llandelio Cardiganshire
And why when I type Llandelio into Ancestry it comes up with Carmenthenshire?
Carmenthenshire cannot be Cardiganshire...can it?
Thanks
Kelli

This refers to the changes which are occurring when FamilySearch updates
www.familysearch.org. The beta site is now available at
beta.familysearch.org, and will replace the FamilySearch site soon.
How the International Genealogical Index (IGI) Changed
The International Genealogical Index no longer exists as a searchable
database. You can no longer search for its records by batch number.
The International Genealogical Index was a computer file that listed several
hundred million names of deceased persons from throughout the world. It was
available on compact disc and on previous versions of the FamilySearch
website.
The International Genealogical Index had two basic types of records. Some
are available
on the updated FamilySearch website. Some are not.
Original records of birth, marriage, and death were transcribed and added to
the International Genealogical Index. These records have high value for
family history research because the information came from original records,
and that original source information is still available. These records are
now part of the FamilySearch website's collection of historical records. You
can find them listed under the original titles of the collections from which
they were indexed instead of being listed as coming from the International
Genealogical Index.
Patrons submitted records that were added to the International Genealogical
Index.
These records lack sources, so their value for family history research is
limited. These records are temporarily not available for searching.
Am trying to find family of Margaret Morris Jordan she was married to my gggrandfather John Jordan born in Neath 1821. to charles and Jane Jordan. I have my ggrandfather Edwin Morris Jordan's birth certificate and parents are margaret(nee Morris) and John Jordan. I have seen in parish record a margaret and John jordan marriage, father of margaret listed as David Morris or Maurice. In archives I saw an Alice and john Jordan married. Some confusion as did he marry Margaret or Alice? or both? I saw in research a David Morris with Catherine Morris, wife, and daughters Alice and Margaret. Could he have married 1 and then she died and he married the other? Please any help appreciated.
My GG Grandfather EVAN DAVIES was born 1825 in Wales. One census says Glamorgan, another says Llandeilo,Cardigan Wales. He married MARY CATHERINE EDWARDS 5 November 1853 in Cwmbach, Aberdare. They spent their married life in Aberdare. Evan died 7 September 1880 in Treorky, Glamorgan.

I am trying to sort out the ancestry of Margaret Bevan, my ggg grandmother, and wonder if anyone else has researched this line! The way I have it figured out is this:Margaret Bevan born 1811 Merthyr Tydfil married William Henry.Margaret's father is Thomas Bevan born 1785 Llangyfelach and mother is Margaret Unknown.Father of Thomas is William Bevan born 1766 LlansannorFather of William is Llewelyn Bevan born abt 1742 and married to Rebecca Unknown. If this is familiar to anyone, I'd just like to know if I've made any errors. I've used the new family search pilot test program for most of it.Thank you for any help you can give me. Carol(in U.S.)
Carol
this site is linked to a pay per view site for certain records these include those census records that are not free to view eg 1841,1851,1871,1891,1901
the 1881 census that is already on familysearch.com can be viewed free.
Can someone please confirm those IGI etc ,entries that have been submitted by readers and not actual parish records are included in this beta site and the pilot site.
There is no indication when looking at the search results where the record originated
