Hi Len
The 1911 census was made available earlier this year but the information
relating to health is blanked out & won't be released until 2012. It is
available as a pay to view at: _www.1911census.co.uk_
(http://www.1911census.co.uk) and you can look at a transcription or the original census image. I
find the images interesting because they are the original census not the
enumerators books & so are written & signed by our ancestors. The fees to view
are quite high but once you've paid them, you can look at them again
without further payment.
Bye
Eileen
Hello all,
I have found an Welsh obit of a relative through a Google Book search. It's
longer than normal--a good sized paragraph. I put it through an online
translator. While I can get the general idea, the translation leaves much
to be desired. Is there anyone that would be willing to do a translation for
me? If so, please contact me off-list, and I'll send you the link to the
book.
Thanks in advance,

Hello Annette,
I would have been thrilled to report that your Amelia was also an antecedent
of my MORGAN family but alas I can't.
It seems my Amelia died before her second birthday - there is a compelling
indexed death registration in FreeBMD which would explain her omission from
the next census.
I did search my microfiche records of baptisms in St. Gwynno's parish
register, Llanwonno for any indexed baptisms of any child of a Benjamin
MORGAN,
pp.32 - 36, incl., but there are none. There are likely to have been other
churches in Pontypridd having there own registers, e.g. non-conformist
establishments, but I'm not familiar with any.
Happy hunting,
best regards.
It was cholera in 1866 - as well as 1832 and 1849.

When researching some irish ancestors going to the usa, I came across an
entry for a LOUIS or LEWIS LEWIS. Described as a Russian Hebrew, On the
S.S. St Louis leaving Liverpool, 3rd November 1915. His father, ABRAHAM
LEWIS, is living in 42 GORON? Rd, Cardiff, and he is going to see his
mother, Mrs A LEWIS, at 859, BECK St. the Bronx, ny. He is described as
being in good health 510, fair hair brown eyes.

You will find dates of baptisms for Elizabeth, John, Philip and Mary Mansel,
children of George Mansel and Mary if you search the IGI on
familysearch.org, all in Cadoxton Juxta Neath.
Also there is the marriage of George Mansel and Mary Jenkins 7 Apr 1816.
All extracted from parish records.

Hello David,
The family are apparently at the same address in 1891. Annie is described
as a dressmaker & brother, David J. is a colliery clerk. Although in 1881
everyone's place of birth was recorded as Cilybebyll, in this census it's
clear that only Annie's mother, Gwen was actually born in the parish.
Father, David & both children were born in Clydach and the family were
enumerated there in the census of 1871.
By 1901 David senior had died and Annie & her brother were still living with
Gwen at Gwyn St.

The 1881 census shows a JONES family at Gwyn Street, Cilypebill, Pontardawe:
David Jones, head, 58, blacksmith
Gwen Jones, wife, 50
Gwen Jones, dau., 14
Annie Jones, dau., 12
David J Jones, son, 8
(all born Cilypebill)
Does anyone know anything of this family after 1881?
David
